You know... people talking about their muses and all.. i feel left out I'se do... I don't know where my muse is..or even if I got one... :: sweatdrop ::
:: little voice, ducks to check under a carpet :: muse...??? 'ello? you there?
Knowing me I probably scared the poor soul off ages ago...
If you're writing an SG fanfic, then consider those charas your muses. Or your creativity demons. Be wary, however, as some of them crawl around your desk and demand attention. XD
Even if they're canon charas. XD You don't think I get enough headaches with my Inuyasha creativity demon demanding ramen and my Kenshin demon wonder what he's doing stuck in a house full of loonies? ;)
I'm with Sage on this. Sometimes I feel like the canon characters are storming my desk, demanding I write this or that for them. Granted, sometimes I'm with you looking under the carpet to see where they've gone too.
Muses, like all other imaginative things, choose their own time to make themselves known. If you're looking to see if you have a muse, then not only do you probably have one, but he/she/it is indeed probably hiding from you.
In my experience with muses, I've found that they aren't a separate entity from a person--more of a manifestation of their innermost creative side. After you understand that, it's a matter of sitting back and letting your muse come to you, in whatever form that muse sees fit.
Lastly and MOST importantly...be aware that you may very well have more than one.

I'd say that a voice telling you that you want some sort of forbidden frozen dessert is generally disqualified as a muse. ;0)
I think mine are coffee muses... heh
When you find your muse, you'll know.
