Doctor Who: 10 - blue smirk look

Hi-ho-hi-ho a back to work I go.......... ahem.... still gotta read Electronic commerce chapter for tomorrow's lecture... mind you I *may* read it on the bus tomorrow morning.......

still feeling kinda blah.... last few nights haven't exactly been restfull....had trouble falling asleep and it's not because I drink too much coffee! there were days I haven't drunk any at all (maybe that's the reason, then? meh)

Gotta start on my assignments too... after I'm done with Darky's essay.... :: glare :: I better get credit for THAT! Edit: What say I won't even get a "thank you" for that?!

Doctor Who: 10 - blue smirk look

Lesse... 2 subjects.... 6 assignments...4 of them due by the beginning of March... UGH.... eBusiness presentation next week, Security issues assignment 1 due next week as well... security assignment is mini talks/presentation of sorts; presentation based on the current security threat (loads of those around)... I don't actually mind presentations.... I like them... course they are a bit more difficult if the topic is "HUH?!?" which it is a bit in eBusiness...case study thing....gotta answer these questions.... --- > Imagine you are the director of a competitor firm. Unlike the case study you have just come across, your company not only does not have an e-commerce solution but it has not even considered one. What do you do in response? Do you go online or stay off-line? Do you mimic the competition or do you differentiate yourself? How? What particular business patterns are you considering using? And what are some of the hurdles you foresee? Discuss costs and benefits. My case study's in building houses or something.. there's a business I haven't considered going into!

Then two weeks later I got a report to hand in and an essay due on the same week..

Business plan isn't due until April 12th, but the seminar thig can be due anywhere from March 16th till April 27th, depending on the order he'll have us present.....oh and I got one group work thing amongst those assignments....the business plan.. which is icky! I hate group work....I end up doing all the work and tearing my hair out because no one else is working but getting the grades for it. Out of all the group work I've done in college.. only about 2 of them where were the people did do the work assigned to them....rest are just free loaders off everyone else...

That's it!!! No more sleep on weekends!!!

assignments, my own and Darky's

Sick of reading manuals..done with Darky's essay..(I ask again who's the Postgraduate student here: him or me?!)

started my IACT301 assignment number 2.. the essay which is due March 9th..... got enough research for it based on my reading in the past; just need the correct references from the books at home....This is the topic “A network can never be 100% secure, moreover, it is an issue of managing the risks involved to reasonable levels” Discuss your understanding of the various risks posed to a network and how they may be protected against. In your analysis focus on the inverse relationship between security and user convenience, provide examples.

I started with this:
"Almost every single day we hear about one company or another company having their security compromised and/or their network broken into by hackers and crackers. Most of us think “it will never happen to me”; but, it will, and chances are it already has. Simply said, just because you don't know it happened does not mean it didn't happen at all. A network, no matter how small, is not and never will be 100% secure no matter what measures the administrator(s) or the users of the network will take to protect themselves and their network from unwanted ‘guests’. Even if you are a home Internet user, who is to say no one is watching you every time you log on to check your e-mail? Someone, somewhere out there in the world of the Internet, is watching and waiting to strike." but then I thought... looks more like a conclusion to me....drum roll anyone? ^_^;

found some articles to talk about next week... currect electronic security issues....
Thinking of using one of these.... but I'm not sure which is the true one, since clearly they talk about the same thing but one describes it one way and the other one in a totally different way... these guys have been known to contradict eachother alot...
