What's better for making wallpapers?

Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8
MGI Photosuite 4
Macromedia Freehand/Fireworks/Dreamweaver

I got all these progs, but I'm not sure which one's better... it took me about 8 hours to make my last wallpaper (was years ago. yes. but) I'm thinking of starting to play around with that again to make some new ones..... but before i settle on something, I just want the general opinion of people who used those programs before and find it easier to work or whatever...

Keep in mind, I'm very stupid when it comes to graphic design and such...

I remember using a version of paint shop pro about a year ago, and it was okay for general image editing. If I had a choice I'd go with photoshop, but paint shop pro would be a top 5 choice.

Ever consider the GIMP? It's free.
